A Fishing Family Vacation

This August we were blessed to have the Larson family from Story City Iowa visit with us for 10 fun filled days of FISHING! Bill and Carol, their sons Rob and Seth,came fully equiped with rods, lures, determination and even their own boat. Muskies were the goal!

   

This family was a TRUE Fishing Family! If they weren't out on our lake (Little Pelican) they were traveling to all the surrounding lakes with their boat. Sally, Big Detroit, Little Detroit, Melissa, Cormorant... I don't think they missed a lake!

   

Between the fishing and the cleaning of fish, we did manage to get in some visiting...mostly while we watched Seth & Rob do the cleaning. Boy could those guys clean fish!

   

Breakfast was served everymorning...sometimes AFTER the guys came in from an early morning of ...you guessed it...FISHING! Other meals were prepared togethor and shared out on the patio most of the time. I can say from personal experience...Carol is a pretty good cooker of fish!...and she makes a pretty mean birthday cake too!

 

Day 10 was bound to come...and we knew we would REALLY miss the Larsons...but evening nine brought the goal...MUSKIES!!! Three of them, all around 45 - 46 inches. And now...several weeks since the Larsons returned to Iowa...we can honestly say we miss them...they were Wonderful guests...we consider them GOOD friends...and we hope they will return to visit again. Larson family...Carol & Bill, Rob & Seth...COME BACK! (We found your bait bucket under the dock!)
